Description:Summary
Responsible for efficient and effective management of a full service branch office, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed, and delegating some of the day-to-day operations to the service center supervisor in order to be available to make business calls and to represent the credit union at community functions. Depending upon conditions performs any combination of the duties outlined below. Participate in the credit union strategic planning process.

Duties:Duties and Responsibilities
Train, schedule, assign work, review job performance and make authoritative recommendations with regard to hiring and salary and, when necessary, discipline and discharge of branch personnel. Conduct regular meetings to keep staff informed and resolve problems. Maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch by training staff to maximize opportunities to sell products and services.

Ensures the branch is open and ready to conduct business each business day. Delegate various operational duties to the branch supervisor, but assumes overall administrative responsibility for operating the branch.

Provide member services such as explaining deposit products, opening new accounts, and assisting members with problem resolution.

Review and take mortgage, consumer and business loan applications explaining different financing options and programs available. Qualify the applicant according to established underwriting guidelines. Prepare and processes loan documents, review for accuracy, and arrange for disbursal.

Ensure that the branch and ATM balances all transactions at the close of each business day. Help other staff to resolve balancing problems and authorize over/short adjustments. Conduct surprise cash count audits as necessary to verify accuracy of transactions.

Responsible for the general maintenance and security of the branch. Ensuring that the walkways are clear of ice and snow and that all security procedures are followed for the safety and security of the members and employees. Ensure that the branch complies with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory and law enforcement agencies.

Recommend, implement and monitor the budget for the branch office consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union, and work with other departments to maintain consistency in credit union policies and procedures.

Make regular business development calls to solicit new business or maintain existing business relationships. Periodically call on real estate companies, builders and auto dealerships to explain new mortgage products or promotions. Participate in area community organizations and represent the credit union at various functions and meetings.

Cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs keep abreast of industry trends to react in a way that maintains competitiveness.

Qualifications:Skills, Abilities and Qualities
Thorough knowledge of branch operations to coordinate the daily functioning of the branch and to resolve employee and member problems. The interpersonal skills necessary to conduct business development calls to businesses, and select groups of members or potential members. Friendly, accurate, detail oriented, knowledgeable, hardworking, honest and dependable. A bachelorís degree in business with an emphasis on sales or marketing, five years of progressively responsible experience within a financial institution; two years of small business loan origination, underwriting, and servicing experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience necessary to gain the background knowledge to manage a full service branch and deal effectively with members and co-workers.
