Description:Overview of Your Role

Maintain responsibility for the daily operations of the SEFCU Café at Patroon Creek, including opening and closing process, food preparation, menu planning, and ordering.

Duties:Accountabilities and Responsibilities

•Perform food preparation, packaging, cooking, and serving to visitors and staff.
•Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature.
•Prepare and set up food, linens, etc. for catering requests (i.e., breakfast meetings, and special events held in the Dora Maxwell).
•Open Café and prepare for breakfast service.
•Collaborate on menu planning, including breakfast and lunch specials and weekly takeout dinners.
•Research and recommend new, healthy menu items.
•Restock coolers, freezers, dispensers, and displays as needed.
•Maintain accurate financial transactions
•Count down and balance cash drawer at end of day, and prepare funds for deposit.
•Inspect food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
•Inventory food, condiments and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.
•Generate weekly grocery, bakery, coffee, and beverage orders.
•Receive, verify, and put away daily food and supply deliveries.
•Maintain equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition for the purpose of complying with state health code requirements.
•Ensure that Café areas are clean, safe and hygienic at all times.
•Operate on a professional level consistent with SEFCU’s service standards.
•Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:Credentials, Experience and Skills

•High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•Previous experience in food handling (café, concession stand, or restaurant)
•Experience operating a cash drawer or financial transactions preferred
•Ability to understand and follow state health code and maintain sanitary conditions
•Must be friendly, have excellent interpersonal skills, and enjoy working in a public setting
•Your ability to be bonded is required
